Subject: Ensemble vs. Star Vehicle
Interesting to compare this original to the later film. If it wasn't for Henry Fonda's starring in it, the movie version wouldn't have been made. But, it by necessity became a Henry Fonda film. This is more of an ensemble performance. Bob Cummings plays the holdout juror as the script says: unsure, knowing only that he feels he must vote his conscience. He does a marvelous acting job, as do all in the ensemble. First Rate!
